The Yucatán peninsula is known for its beautiful colors, culture, and artwork. One of its most iconic elements is the use of pasta tiles. 


These stunning tiles have become a staple of Mexican culture and Yucatán decor. Plus because of their durability, affordability, and of course, beauty, these tiles have grown to be a popular design choice globally!

What are Pasta Tiles? 

You’ve probably seen these beautiful tiles at some point in your life. Many southern states and businesses with Mexican influence will utilize these tiles in their building decor. 


If you’ve ever gone to the Yucatán, then you’ll see these tiles everywhere, and rightfully so. Their colors, patterns, and overall aesthetic are downright stunning. Even the most simplistic patterns can transform a space into a Mexican oasis.

Why are Pasta Tiles Functional? 

Yucatán offers a very warm climate, especially during the warmer months when the heat and humidity levels rise. Because of this, many homes skip out on laying down carpets and rugs. Instead, pasta tiles have become a way to adorn the floors while keeping a decorative, yet cool space.

These tiles are also known for their practicality and durability. The top layer is created using liquid colored concrete which is poured into a tile mode. Underneath this layer, more concrete is added to create a tile that is about an inch thick. Once laid, these tiles create a really durable surface that will last for years.

Their durability and resistance to cracking or chipping allow an installation to last anywhere from 50 to 100 years. Plus, no matter the age, the colors will remain vibrant and bold. 


These stunning tiles can be found in practically every Yucatecan home and public space. Unsurprisingly, their beauty has also gone on to influence interior design of the modern world as well.

This company is one of the oldest in the craft and has been creating these beautiful tiles for over fifty years. Return process

If you would like to return or exchange clothing or shoes, A USPS return label will be automatically generated. *Please Note: The shipping cost of the return label will be deducted from your return total. To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

To start a return, you can contact us at orders@mexicoinmypocket.com. If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted. You can always contact us for any return question at orders@mexicoinmypocket.com.


Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

We are excited to now offer flat-rate shipping. Please allow 2 to 6 business days for fulfillment and arrival. Orders for in-stock items (a.k.a. non pre-orders) will ship out same day if placed before 12p EST. 

Our shop hours are Monday - Friday 11 a.m. -7 p.m.., which means orders placed after 11 a.m. EST will go out the following day. Orders placed Sunday will be fulfilled on Wednesday. For more details, see below.

Pick Up Orders: For local customers based in Brooklyn, pick-up is available at checkout at no additional charge. If you are charged shipping at checkout, send us an email and we will refund you the shipping cost. Pick-up is available during business hours Monday - Sunday 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. Please allow 24 hours for orders to be processed.
