These Mexican church candles are a centuries-old tradition. Made by pouring hot layers of paraffin over cotton wicks and stamped with gold foil. These candles have been used and are still used to grace church altars and to illuminate homes for fiestas in Mexico.

  • Each candle is made from paraffin wax
  • The warm color is achieved by melting amber (crystallized tree sap).
  • Made in Mexico gold foil stamp at the bottom.

Care Instructions:

  • Please remember to cut the wicks before burning.
  • Trim wicks to 1/8 inch before each time you light the candle.
  • Candles may smoke slightly.
  • These candles are not dripless candles.

  • When burning indoors, please keep them away from air vents, ceiling fans, and flammable objects.

    Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

    Created by Oaxacan artisans in San Marcos Tlapazola, this marranito Mexican clay vase brings the beauty of Mexican culture into any space.

     

    About the Artisans: 
    The women of San Marcos Tlapazola are well-known for creating beautiful designs made from red clay. Twice a year, the women from this community venture off to the hills to extract rocks for their creations. The process involves using a rock on the floor as a base and the delicacy of the artisan's hands to carefully mold each design. The final details are added using piece of maiz and jícara. Lastly, the products are taken to a wood oven where they are baked for 8 hours.

    All sales are final. No refunds or exchanges will be given on any purchases at this time.

    Details:

    • Opening is approximately 5 x 4 inches. 
    • Dimensions of pig: Approximately 7.5 inches long x 3.5 inches tall x 4 inches width.
    • Perfect for airplants or dried flowers. We do not recommend adding water as it can affect the color of the clay overtime.
