If you're planning a trip to Mexico City, you'll be surprised at how affordable your getaway will be.

Even though this is a very affordable destination to travel to, it's still worth planning accordingly so that you can shave even more dollars off of your travel expenses.

The cheapest time of year to travel to Mexico City is during the off-season, with September being the cheapest month to travel.

Late April and early May are the best months to visit Mexico City because tourism has dipped down a bit, and the weather is still quite nice.

Mexico's rainy season starts in late May and lasts through mid-October.

If you travel during the rainy season, make sure to pack rain boots and an umbrella!

November and early December are also great months to visit.

Mexico City comes alive during the Christmas holiday season and coming in right before Christmas allows you to get a taste of this cultural charm without having to just stick around for the high travel costs.

With that being said, Mexico City is one of those destinations where you can snag a great price all year long.

It just takes a little bit of searching, flexibility, and pre-planning.

While going during the off season allows you to get the best deal possible, don't dismiss trying to book a cheap flight during a time that is most convenient to you.
