Wedding Stationery Inspired by a Mexican Embroidered Dress

This article was originally published on October 8, 2015 and has been modified and updated for our new website.

Conventional wedding invitations are generally made up of lavish cursive fonts and neutral backgrounds.

But what about those of us who are eager to dazzle our friends and family with a little more color or, let's be honest, just show off our awesome Mexican heritage?

Thanks to JP Stationery, a boutique paper shop that finds inspiration from Mexico, brides and grooms now have the option to choose something with a little more flare.

Co-owners Joe and Pamela are constantly researching and collecting inspiration for their designs.

A large portion of their ideas are inspired by Mexico, like their most recent wedding suite, "Rachel," which was inspired by a Mexican-embroidered dress owned by Pamela's mom.

"We just released the Rachel Suite and brides are going crazy for it," Joe said.

The couple is passionate about showcasing Mexican designs in their stationery because it's where Pamela grew up.

"Mexico has such an amazing history and visual story to tell and our stationery is the perfect canvas to help tell that story," Pamela said.

“It’s important for us to…make sure we don’t rush through our design process.”

The couple says designing suites usually takes a month or so to perfect.

All of their paper goods are designed, printed, and shipped out of their studio in Sausalito, California.

"It's important for us to take our time and make sure we don’t rush through our design process," Pamela saidAnd though their designs are advertised as wedding stationery, they can alter suites for any occasion.

The wedding suites include save the dates, invitations, ceremony programs, itinerary, place cards, table numbers, menus, and thank you cards.

However, they can adapt suites to fit the couple's needs.

Customers can order items individually, mix and match different suites, or order a single item.
