Artisans: Jose Garcia along with his wife Teresita are recognized around Oaxaca de Juarez for creating beautiful red clay sculptures. They are especially known for the specific style and technique they use to design giant red clay sculptures that are also part of La Guelaguetza’s celebrations.
Jose Garcia molds the figures by hand and is referred to as “Manos Que Ven” because he is blind and creates his pieces from memory. Jose Garcia also offers molding clay classes in Oaxaca.
